CV tips
A good resume goes a long way at Domino's Pizza. It's your first point of contact
with us, so you'll want to make a good impression. But writing a good resume doesn't
mean you have to lock yourself in your bedroom for weeks on end. With our simple
guide on resume do's and don'ts, you'll have yours looking good in no time.
Personal details
A good place to start is who you are, your age and so on. Kick off your resume by
detailing your name, address, phone number, mobile and email.
Keep it simple
Avoid using colours, or a font that's difficult to read. If your resume looks confusing,
chances are it will be.
Strut your stuff
After your personal details it's a good idea to talk about your strengths. You can
either list them as bullet points, or write a quick paragraph outlining previous
jobs or work experience. You should back up your strengths. If you think you're
good with people, use examples to explain why.
Your career
List down specific jobs, placements or any work experience you've had. Starting
with your most recent or current job, describe each role like this:
- Job title, employer, dates
- Description of employer
- Responsibilities
- Achievements
Education & Training
This covers school, university, TAFE training, and any other qualifications or training
courses you've successfully completed. Start with your highest qualification first,
remembering to include the dates you achieved each one.
References
Employers often ask for two referees before offering employment. One personal and
one professional is the norm. These could be an old manager, a schoolteacher, or
even course instructor.
